This Week in TYPO3 (Week 42, 2013)
This TYPO3 week ended in Pozna?, Poland from where this weekly summary comes to you. This week saw the release of the first beta of TYPO3 CMS 6.2 LTS, a final report on this year's Google Summer of Code, a marketing meeting and an interview with Tomasz Grzemski about TYPO3camp Poland.

The Google Summer of Code is over and it's time to recap. In the last 3 month Google gave 1,060 students in total the opportunity to work and code for an Open Source Project at one of 177 mentoring organizations. That's the annual Google Summer of Code. We, the TYPO3 Community, participated for the fourth time and mentored five students this year.
Marketing Team Meeting October 15th
Yesterday the marketing team had a real life meeting in Wiesbaden. The major goal was to plan the different days of the upcoming marketing sprint which will take place between the 18th and 24th of November 2013.
TYPO3 CMS 6.2 LTS beta1 released
The TYPO3 community, contributors, and the release team are proud to introduce to you a new snapshot of the current development of TYPO3 CMS 6.2: beta1.
This Week in TYPO3 (Week 41, 2013)
This week we have 2 code sprints running. The first code sprint by the Editorial Team and a feature freeze code sprint in a series of code sprints targeting stabilisation and finishing TYPO3 CMS 6.2 LTS. Release manager, Ernesto Baschny, answers some questoins. We have a report on a unique community cooperation and news came in this week that the Bitnami package was completed.
Upcoming elections in the TYPO3 Association
Official positions in the TYPO3 Association have a tenure of office of 2 years. Each year half of the positions are newly elected. In 2014 the following positions are up for election:

Joey Hasenau and Kay Strobach met on the TYPO3 Developer Days 2013. Both are working on similar projects concerning the backend and theming. Their meeting did not turn into an epic battle, but into a fruitful cooperation. That is what the TYPO3 community is all about. ~ben

This Week in TYPO3 (Week 40, 2013)
This week saw the release of Alpha 3 of TYPO3 CMS, the huge Neos code sprint and some TYPO3 event announcements. Also included is an interview with Sebastian Kurfürst, release manager of Neos 1.0.
