This year, a special interest group was formed to update screenshots in the official TYPO3 documentation. Updating screenshots manually is tedious and boring. This article explains the really cool automatic solution we have devised, and we’re looking for people to help us make it even better.

Meet Sybille Peters, Germany (Application Podcast S1E10)

Today we speak with Sybille Peters, a Germany-based developer who’s responsible for the web presence at the University of Oldenburg. She is also very active on the TYPO3 Community Documentation Team. We talk about the joys of open source community, contribution, and collaboration in the TYPO3 community, her favorite features TYPO3 has to offer, and improvements for developers in the future. In 2020—we, as the Marketing Team—decided and announced that we wanted to focus on creating a variety of fact and figure-based materials, which should help agencies sell TYPO3 better. Our biggest project was to create the Comparison Cards, comparing TYPO3 to the most popular alternatives on the market.

The TYPO3 Documentation Team is continuously working on improving the TYPO3 documentation—keeping it up to date, finding new and better ways to document and—equally important—removing outdated information.

Meet Andri Steiner, TYPO3 Server Team Lead, Switzerland (Application Podcast S1E9)

By night, Andri Steiner is the TYPO3 Server Team Lead, where he focuses on hosting and configuring servers, and keeping the community’s digital infrastructure up-(to-date) and running. By day, he’s a CTO and Partner at Ops One, living and working in Zürich, Switzerland, where, he says, “We do our own web applications, like backends for mobile apps, or usual websites or whatever our customers want us for.”

TYPO3 General Assembly 2021

Be part of an important moment in the democratic life of the TYPO3 project. The next TYPO3 General Assembly will be held on 13 April, 2021. Due to the Corona situation, this year again the General Assembly will be a full online event.

Mathias Schreiber’s journey to become the CEO of the TYPO3 GmbH was not especially purposeful, but that’s part of what makes it so fascinating. He talks about how he first became aware of TYPO3, participating in the open source community, his abrupt transition to CEO, and the values that guide the TYPO3 GmbH today.
