Decision Paper Review
This item was discussed confidentially and details have been redacted from the public protocol.
The Board reviewed a proposed update to the conflict of interest matrix, but found the necessity and urgency of the requested changes unclear, as existing checks and balances were deemed sufficient. The Board expressed a desire to avoid scrutinizing personal lives and explored alternative mitigation strategies, such as focusing on critical board positions and improving overall communication regarding policies.
Member Expulsion Because of Continued Trademark Violation
This item was discussed confidentially and details have been redacted from the public protocol.
The Board reached a consensus to proceed with the previously proposed expulsion procedure and accepted the letter drafted for this matter.
Proposal: TYPO3 Enterprise Committee
The Board discussed and approved the proposal to establish an enterprise committee. The initiators are asked that agency involvement in this committee will be limited to a temporary bootstrapping phase, and any future involvement from agencies will require them to bring in actual enterprise customers. All results from this committee will be made public, and the committee will define processes for enterprise members to contribute financially.
Post-GA Working Groups for By-laws Changes
The Board agreed to initiate a working group to implement the by-law changes decided during the 2026 General Assembly. This group will involve the original petitioners and will follow the new workflow by preparing pull requests in the policy repository. A call for participation will be published on talk.typo3.org.
Request From a Community Member for a New Team
The Board reviewed a request to form a new Governance Team and discussed the distinction between teams and committees. While community groups can be initiated at any time, official recognition requires a team to have been active for at least six months. The board invites the involved parties to contribute to existing, publicly available governance proposals (like the Rules for TYPO3 Units or the Rules for the TYPO3 Unit Coordination Panel) rather than creating parallel structures.
Background
- Policies regarding team formation and recognition are defined in the Teams and Committees overview and the Policy for Teams and Committees.
