TYPO3 CMS Code sprint "Extension" 4th to 7th April 2013 in Wiesbaden
During 4th to 7th April another code sprint happened with a group of people taking care of the "extension" topic for the TYPO3 CMS core. This time AOE Media in Wiesbaden was our hoster and provided everything we needed to keep us busy on coding stuff. After a long weekend for a lot of contributors and some cool improvements the TYPO3 world has one more TYPO3 release - CMS 6.1 Beta 1. The feature freeze for the upcoming version has now been reached.

Last Thursday to sunday, the community had two code sprints - one was about the typo3.org website, and one was centered around the current implementation of the File Abstraction Layer (short: FAL), shipped with TYPO3 CMS 6.0, set in Bochum, Germany.

TYPO3 CMS Agenda: More long-term support
In a year from now, TYPO3 4.5 LTS was originally planned to reach end of life. The TYPO3 Core Team is pleased to announce the schedule for the upcoming TYPO3 releases including the next release with Long Term Support (LTS). Additionally, the lifetime of TYPO3 4.5 LTS will be extended.
TYPO3 CMS 6.1 Alpha 1 released
The first and only alpha version of TYPO3 CMS 6.1 has been released today. The final release is scheduled for late April 2013.

The final dates are set to go forward with some hard-core-coding for the next TYPO3 CMS Release: The upcoming code sprints for TYPO3 6.1.
Neos Codesprint February 2013
For almost a whole week the Neos core team met in Lübeck for planning the next steps toward the 1.0 release of Neos and implementing some features right away. With, at times, 17 people, this was an intensive sprint with some great results.
