SCCON 2025 Recap

TYPO3 joined SCCON 2025 in Berlin with six partners to showcase open, secure, and scalable solutions for digital governance and public administration.

Empowering Digital Sovereignty Together

From September 30 to October 2, 2025, TYPO3 joined thousands of innovators, public-sector leaders, and digital experts at the Smart Country Convention (SCCON) in Berlin. As Germany’s leading event for digital transformation in government and administration, SCCON remains an important event for TYPO3 to engage with public institutions, explore the evolving priorities of digital governance, and demonstrate how open source strengthens transparency, trust, and long-term independence for the public sector.

Connecting Open Source and the Public Sector

TYPO3 showcased how open-source technology empowers digital sovereignty and enables public institutions to deliver secure, accessible, and scalable digital platforms. Together with our partners +Pluswerk, SUNZINET, in2code, 3pc, ressourcenmangel integral and TEAM23, we welcomed visitors to the TYPO3 booth and the TYPO3 Experience Hub, where we shared insights, demonstrated solutions, and explored how open standards can strengthen public digital infrastructure.

The TYPO3 Experience Hub

Across three inspiring days, the TYPO3 Experience Hub offered a program of short sessions on the topics that shape the public sector’s digital landscape today – accessibility, sustainability, cybersecurity, AI and personalization, digital standardization and data sovereignty.

These sessions provided valuable insights into how TYPO3 enables institutions to balance innovation with trust, ensuring long-term control over their data and digital services. Visitors appreciated the openness of the discussions and the practical perspective TYPO3 brings to public digital projects.

A Special Moment for GSB 11

The Bundesministerium für Digitales und Staatsmodernisierung (BMDS) and the Informationstechnikzentrum Bund (ITZBund) were recognized with two awards at the Open Source Competition by the Open Source Business Alliance for their project Government Site Builder 11 (GSB 11) – which is proudly built on TYPO3.

TYPO3 is proud to provide the foundation for GSB 11 and to see this achievement acknowledged at the national level. Congratulations to the BMDS and ITZBund teams, and thank you to the TYPO3 community for participating in the community voting, continuing to demonstrate how open source drives innovation and builds digital trust in the public sector.

We are proud to contribute to the growing movement toward open, sovereign, and sustainable digital governance, helping organizations build secure and accessible digital platforms that serve citizens effectively.

The conversations and connections we made in Berlin will continue at T3CON this November, where TYPO3 experts, partners, and community members will come together to share insights, discuss future developments, and explore how open-source technology continues to shape the digital landscape.

To everyone who visited our booth, exchanged ideas, and shared their perspectives, thank you for being part of this journey. We look forward to continuing these discussions at SCCON 2026.
