During the TYPO3 core team meeting in January the team decided to introduce strategic initiatives as a way to structure and plan future development. An “initiative” consists of people within the TYPO3 community with a common interest to make long-term improvements in a specific area in TYPO3 including strategic plans, goals, task-breakdown, monitoring of progress and reporting. These initiative might also span over multiple versions like v9 & v10.

A modern typo3.org gets closer
We are getting closer to a modern version of typo3.org. The next big step forward is the upcoming launch of new.typo3.org.
Report on the typo3.org Team Sprint in Darmstadt (Feb 2018)
From 19th to 21th of Feburay our team met in Darmstadt, to prepare the launch of new.typo3.org. As a combined sprint with the marketing team, we had a very productive time, with a lot achievements.
T3camp Mitteldeutschland (Central Germany)
This year between Jan. 25th and 27th TYPO3camp Mitteldeutschland (Central Germany) took place in the beautiful city of Dresden for the first time. Tickets sold out completely, with 200 participants coming from all over Germany and Austria.

State of the Education
After my first 100 days in office, it is a personal concern to inform you about the changes and the current tasks in the Education Committee.
Certificate issue with composer
Due to a change of the SSL certificate for all *.typo3.org domains, some composer clients are not able to connect to composer.typo3.org anymore due to a outdated CA bundle.
Mailserver Migration
We are about to switch the typo3.org email server to a completely new system on Monday, 5th of March 2018. All current mailbox owner have to migrate their data and configuration.
