Best Practices Remote Code Sprint: August 2026

Oliver Klee shares a report on the Best Practices Team's Remote Code Sprint on 3 August 2026, where the team worked on TYPO3 14 LTS compatibility for the Tea example extension.
Bring Something Blue
The TYPO3 Best Practices Team meets on the first Monday of every month for a remote sprint to work on the Tea example extension (tea). Each of these sprints has a theme for the team photo. This time, it was: “Bring something blue.” So we met holding two blue elePHPants, a Terry Pratchett book, and a blue cap.
TYPO3 v14 LTS It Is
This sprint, the team felt really energetic and got lots of work done. We focused on adding TYPO3 v14 LTS compatibility and on making the runTests.sh tool runner more maintainable while staying close to the implementation in the TYPO3 Core.
Don’t Blink!
This sprint was a little more intense than usual. Pull requests flew by at a breakneck speed — it felt almost like the weeping angels from Doctor Who: If you blink, a new pull request will be sitting in the repository, waiting to be reviewed. You can see the results in our merged commits.
See You Soon
The Best Practices Team remote sprints are open to everybody. To attend a sprint, hop on the #best-practices-team channel on TYPO3 Slack and join the opening Huddle. You'll find everything you need to get ready on our Regular Remote Day wiki page.
