SUMMARY:EU Open Source Policy Summit
DESCRIPTION:The EU Open Source Policy Summit calls itself “the world’s larg
 est assembly of policymakers, Open Source businesses, community members, de
 velopers, foundations, and experts engaged in diverse digital policy matter
 s”. Even though it takes place in, Brussels, Belgium — in many ways the cen
 ter of European politics — the conference attracts international representa
 tion and is marketed as “the only global conference of its kind”.\n\nOpenFo
 rum Europe (OFE) is the event organizer. Founded in 2002, OFE is a Brussels
 -based not-for-profit, independent think tank, the organization works to “e
 xplain the merits of openness in computing to policy makers and communities
  across Europe”. It works with the European Commission, the European Parlia
 ment, and national and local governments.\n\nTYPO3 is joining this event as
  a bronze sponsor. Open source policy is increasingly important for our fre
 e and open-source (FOSS) CMS. This led to our participation in awareness ca
 mpaigns, such as the open letter to the EU regarding the Cyber Resilience A
 ct and collaboration with other FOSS CMS projects. TYPO3 Association Board 
 member Mathias Bolt Lesniak will be present at the event, together with Dan
 iel Homorodean, leader of the TYPO3 Community Expansion Team.\n\nEvent part
 icipation is free and can be attended online. You can choose to request a s
 pot at the onsite event during registration.
