Arbitrary File Disclosure in extension "restler" (restler)

It has been discovered that the extension "restler" (restler) is susceptible to Arbitrary File Disclosure.

Component Type: Third party extension. This extension is not a part of the TYPO3 default installation.

Affected Versions: version 1.7.0 and below

Problem Description: The extensions includes a vulnerable version of luracast/restler, which is known to allow users to read content of arbitrary files the webserver has access to. The vulnerability is only exploitable, if access to the vendor-directory of the extension is not forbidden (e.g. by .htaccess)

Solution: An updated version 1.7.1 is available from the TYPO3 Extension Manager and at https://extensions.typo3.org/extension/download/restler/1.7.1/zip/. Users of the extension are advised to update the extension as soon as possible.
